Recycled Project

1. I made a windmill type thing. When wind hits it, it turns.
2. I had to cut out 4 bottles. I took three bottoms of bottles and tied them to the side of the fourth. I used the plastic wrapper of the outside of the bottles I cut to tie them. I cut a hole in the bottom of the main bottle and then on the cap cut a hole and placed a cone shaped thing in it and hot glued it. I then painted it black to make it look better. I then found a stick, made one end a little pointed so it could fit good in the cone holder and slid the stick in.
3.I used 4 plastic sobe bottles, its plastic skin, black paint, a stick, and my hot glue to make it.
4. I wanted to develop the skill to think of the things around you that could easily do in place of something else. To increase my creativeness and to think more in debt on the things I did.
5. I enjoyed the whole of it, but i particularly enjoyed how i made it so the stick would turn and not move around with the usage of the cone and the carved stick. I also enjoyed how I thought of using the plastic wrap that was around the bottle in place of twine. I found it difficult to tie the bottle bottoms to the main bottle because, when the wind hit them they would twist, so i had to make to holes and put the plastic tie through that to fix the problem.
6. I thought I did plastic tie very well, taking it off the bottle with it being just a certain width was challenging but I did it well and then threading it through the bottle bottoms was another that i did well. I also thought i did the lid with a cone in it well at the same time. So i did feel I did do good on some things.

Critique: I think all around the project was good, but the thing that I think I could of done better was make it so when it turned, it would turn and not wobble. As it is now it wobbles because of how the bottom was cut out. I though that that black pain added texture and made it so it blended in more in the environment. I did try to push myself, I tried to think of new ways of doing things. As in how I tied the bottoms on, I used plastic skin instead of taking the easy way out and using twine or thin rope. When I made the project I deliberately made the bottoms a little deep so it would be able to catch the wind better and be better all around. I did follow through with what I said i would, as in what I wanted to learn, but I did not on how I started wanting to make a boat. It evolved from a boat to a windmill. Making this has made me want to maybe think more of how if want to make something I can just look around me and see all the possibilities of things I could use to make something.

Art 21

Bruce Nauman: His art was a wierd kind, I liked the sculpture of the many hands put together. Also I thought that long stairway was cool, since it was just a random staircase outside. His type of art would be abstract.

Carrie James Marshal: He had more of a drawing art, and liked to draw people doing different things or in different situations. It looked to me that he liked drawing black people mainly, he had a good art since you usually don't see that many black people in drawings.

Maya Lynn: She had a artistic and more of an art that is on large scale, like the Vietnam Memorial. I think she is a great artist and has a great sense of what art would be good, you can see it in her large art pieces.

Louise Bourgious: She made hands hat related back to the way someone would hold their child, or the child's hands in their mothers. Her art was more along the lines of sculptures.

Marla's Paintings

Art to me is something someone makes that has to use their creativity. Some people are better then others at how they can think of something they want to make or draw and get it out on a piece of paper or a sculpture. Even if you just splatter paint on a canvas and rub paint wildly, that is still art, you use creativity in all art.

I think Marla is painting art, she is doing the same thing other adults do, painting. Both adults and her are using their imagination and creativity to paint, there is no difference except for the age. I personally believe a child that age could paint abstract art as well as a 45 year-old art degree person. Yes Marla could not paint an animal or scenery or anything like that, because she is not developed enough. Adults learn the styles of how to draw things by using shapes, and they have the experience of know how things actually look like in life.

Personal Picture~

The reason i drew this picture was to display the idea of peacefulness ad calmness. I always have drawn scenery and just decided to do it again here, I tried to use the 3Dness in it when i could. I like the fact that it shows the different was of life that all use the outdoors, form humans, fish, flowers, trees, and various animals.

Favorite Artists

Vincent Van Gogh: He is one of my favorte artist, his painting "starry night" is awesome. How he uses the night in sworls and all the colors mesh well. All around an amazing artist.

Pablo Picasso: His paintings are wierd and very hard to paint i would think. How do u picture the faces and stuff he paints in your head? I dont know how at all, but I think he is a great painter because of that and because of his talent in painting.

Paul Klee: He uses the best colors that can go together on the most original things. Its a ordinary man and a donkey, but he transforms it into a work of art.

Claude Monet: He brings out all of the scenery he does, and has proven it over and over, even though he is dead, he still has great artwork.

Paul Ranson: The flow of the pictures are nice, and it shows all degrees of scenery. The angles of the tree limbs are unique, I havn't seen many with this uniqueness.

Left and Right Brain

First Video: I found that the first video showed what the job opportunities want from artists. That there are people looking for people with computer and drawing skills, and that artists and needed. The video showed that new generation is a little bit faster than the older generations, and some colleges haven't adapted to it.

Second Video: I think that this video was the most interesting because it talked about all the different things that the sides of the brain did. How our society make us think left brained and that the make us memorize and remember and its how schools makes us learn. If we used our other side we would be different.

Third Video: I must say, the last video was a weird video and had people go across the street. I think they were showing the right side of the brain was the artistic side and the right brain was were the smarts were. I think it showed its point well, but kind of a stupid way, no-one even if they did use their right side of their brian only, would run across the street because of the color of the light.

What did i learn from each drawing exercise?

My Face: The drawing of my face, didn't resemble me very well, until I finally but little hair like things to the sides of my head/ears to show better. When you look at the eyes I drew,  you can tell I cannot make eyes. It looks like my picture is about to get hit by a car or something. It is like it is very very surprised.

My Hand: My hand looks lie my actually, like compared to the size and everything. The wrist I drew though does not, it is just not wrist looking at all. The fingers I saw kinda look like fingers to me, but I still thought I had to make it look more finger looking, So drew little hairs on it and now I think it is complete ad looks pretty good.

My Drawing Of Someone From Memory: The person I drew, kinda looked like the picture I drew of me until I drew the hair, The totally different hair style and the fatter noise completed the picture that is suppose to look like my cousin. I decided that it wasn't one of my best works of art, but it was okay.

Upside-Down Man: When I drew the Upside-down man, I thought i drew it well, the body was pretty close to the original drawing that were drew from. The only thing I have to say bad about is, is that they face is like a melting wax person's head. Its quite deformed. It actually made me laugh looking at it.

I never had really drawn very much and drawing in integrated art probably was the first time in a long time that I actually had drawn. When first drew my first picture, I must say it didn't look very good to me, but after that I must say that after that i drew okay, or goodish. The hand I drew was pretty good i guess, even though the hand look kinda deformed. Ha.  I learn from all of those drawings, that you need to draw thinking that that it wasn't a finger or a mouth, but just shapes.
